The Adamawa State Police Command has intensified security measures ahead of President’s Bola Tinubu’s visit thereby deploying its manpower and operational asset to all nooks and crannies of the state.
The Commissioner of Police, Dankwambo Morris ordered for the deployment of the operational assets including police mobile force, volunteer terrorism unit, surveillance squad, crowd and traffic control units to carry out covert surveillance operation in the state.
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Suleiman Nguroje, said personnel have been deployed to identify flashpoints in Yola-South and
Yola-North local government areas in an effort to sustain the existing public order, public safety and public peace before, during and after the visits.
Nguroje said the police command is working closely with other security agencies to ensure a hitch-free visit.
The CP would enforce restriction of vehicular movement in certain areas until after the commissioning and flagging off.
Equally, anti-bomb squads were deployed to sweep the places of the events and roads leading to the places of the events.
The Command urged residents to cooperate with the security agents deployed and report any suspicious activities around their neighborhoods to the nearest police station.
