The director of Personnel Management and the legal officer of Oke- Ero local government area of Kwara State, Alh Musbau Amuda and Barr. Elizabeth Arinde respectively who were abducted last Friday by gunmen have regained their freedom.
LEADERSHIP gathered that the local government officials were rescued unhurt by the combined team of security agencies and the local vigilantes.
Sources told LEADERSHIP that the duo were rescued midnight on Monday and were taken to Omu- Aran, the headquarters of Irepodun local government area, where they passed the night.
The wife of the director of personnel management confirmed the release of her husband and his colleague to LEADERSHIP this morning.
The chairman of Ibagun Progressive Union (IPU), Alh AbduRauf Ajao Amode and the uncle of the DPM, Alh Raufu also confirmed the release of their son.
Among the earlier callers at the director of personnel management’s family residence in the Jagun area of Okelele, Ilorin, were the representatives of the state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
Members of the government delegation included the senior adviser and counselor, Alh Saadu Salahu, special adviser on Special Duties, Alh AbdulRazaq Jiddah and senior special assistant on Religion ( Islam), Alh Ibrahim Danmaigoro.
Both Danmaigoro and Alfa Abdullahi Olooto offered special prayers for the family of the rescued Musbau Amuda, the governor and the state.
Responding, the father of Musbau, Alh AbduRauf Lowin thanked Almighty Allah for ensuring the safety of his son while in captivity.
He also expressed profound gratitude to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and the security operatives in the state for their efforts that culminated in the rescue of the local officials.
