The Nasarawa State Police Command has rescued four abducted children in the Karu local government area of the state.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Ramhan Nansel, stated that the rescue was conducted through a discreet and intelligence-led operation.
SP Nansel explained that the command received information on the disappearance of the children on 31 December 2025, at New Nyanya Division.
He noted that upon receipt of the information, the Command immediately launched a thorough and intelligence-driven investigation into the incident.
“Acting on credible intelligence, detectives of the Command, in collaboration with operatives of the FCT Police Command, swung into action and traced the suspects’ hideout, where the children were safely recovered unhurt.
“Preliminary investigations revealed that the children were allegedly abducted by one Abraham Asoje, aged 28 years, who conspired with one Joy Bolaje, aged 29 years, both of Ado Junction, Karu LGA, Nasarawa State,” he stated.
Explaining further, he said the suspects kept the children in confinement before the timely intervention of the police.
He opined that the rescued children have since been reunited with their families, while efforts are being intensified to apprehend other fleeing suspects connected to the crime.
“The Commissioner of Police, Nasarawa State Command, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, PSC, MNIPS, has commended the professionalism, dedication, and swift response of the operatives involved in the rescue operation.
“He reassures residents of the Command’s unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property, especially the safety of children and other vulnerable members of society, and calls on parents and guardians to be more vigilant and take proper care of their wards.
“Members of the public are urged to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious movements or incidents to the nearest police station,” he noted.
