Yobe State Police Command has rescued four female victims who were abducted in the Fika local government area.
In a statement by the command’s spokesperson, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, the police said its Fika Divisional Headquarters received a distress call on 28th June, 2026, that unidentified persons attacked and abducted four young females at Didim Village.
He said all the victims were minors between the ages of 15 and 17.
Abdulkarim said police operatives attached to Kukar Hadu Outstation, in collaboration with vigilantes launched a rescue operation, with reinforcement from the division resulting in the rescue of all the victims.
The victims were taken to Kukar Hadu Primary Healthcare Centre for medical examination and necessary support before being reunited with their families, it added.
It said that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing members of the criminal syndicate responsible for the attack, as the Command intensifies its operations to bring them to justice.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Usman Kanfani Jibrin, has directed sustained, intelligence-led operations to ensure that the perpetrators are arrested and face the full wrath of the law.
CP therefore reiterated the Command’s commitment to protecting lives and property across the state, urging residents to remain vigilant and continue providing the police with credible and timely information on suspicious persons, movements, or vehicles.
