The PPRO averred that the incident has caused panic in the area as motorists and commuters plying Ikom, Etung, Boki, Ogoja, Yala, Bekwarra, Obanliku Odudu have become scared as a result of the incident.

Ugbo maintained that motorists traveling from Cross River Central Senatorial district to the northern part of the state became so scared because of sporadic shootings from the incident.
