The Nigerian Police Force (NPF) has announced plans to install Artificial Intelligence (AI) devices nationwide in order to identify criminals from the spots of their crimes.
Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Northwest zone, DIG Suleiman Muhammed Abdul, disclosed this at a security stakeholders meeting organised by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) held at the Presidential Lodge in Birnin Kebbi.
The DIG assured that the AI installation, when completed, every Criminal can be identified from the point of crime from the office of the Commissioners of Police in the various states.
“I am happy to inform you that very soon, we will start identifying the criminals right from their points of crimes as part of reinvigorating our services in the force technologically,” he said.
This initiative is designed to be in the office of the states’ Commissioners of Police nationwide,” he added.
DIG Abdul further assured that the meeting between the police and other stakeholders would help in minimising insecurity across the country.
