The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has planned a maintenance exercise that will temporarily disrupt electricity supply to parts of Lagos on Saturday.

In a notice issued on Saturday, the transmission company said the maintenance will be carried out along the Akangba–Ojo 132kV Line II between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

The exercise will allow contractors to carry out the decommissioning and installation of a Capacitive Voltage Transformer (CVT) on the line as part of ongoing rehabilitation works at the Apapa Gas Insulated Substation.

As a result, the Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) will be unable to off-take electricity for distribution to customers in Apapa, Kirikiri, Satellite Town, and neighbouring communities during the maintenance window.

TCN apologised for the inconvenience the outage may cause, noting that the work is part of efforts to strengthen the reliability of the transmission network.
