Professor Tsediso Michael Makoelle, Dean of the Faculty of Education at the University of Fort Hare in the Eastern Cape, South Africa, has continued to demonstrate strong editorial leadership across Africa and beyond.

Through his extensive scholarly and editorial engagements, Professor Makoelle plays a significant role in shaping global research standards and practices within the education sector.

At the University of Fort Hare, he holds several editorial responsibilities that contribute to the development and governance of academic research in education. His work within editorial spaces reflects a sustained commitment to scholarly publishing and rigorous research evaluation.

He serves on the editorial boards of several international academic journals, where he helps guide the direction, quality, and relevance of scholarly publications. In this capacity, he contributes to shaping journal policies and standards and supports critical decisions on manuscript acceptance. His expertise in inclusive education and educational leadership strongly informs his contributions.

In addition, Professor Makoelle has served as a guest editor for special issues of reputable academic journals, including those published by Springer Nature. In these roles, he has defined thematic focus areas, curated high-quality contributions, and overseen peer review processes. His editorial leadership has particularly emphasised inclusive education and effective teaching practices.

Beyond his editorial roles, he is actively involved in peer review for international journals, where he evaluates manuscripts for originality, methodological rigour, and relevance—an essential function in maintaining the integrity of academic publishing.

Professor Makoelle also contributes to the evaluation of research funding proposals as a reviewer for the National Research Foundation, where he assesses the feasibility, scholarly merit, and potential impact of proposed studies.

His editorial and review engagements are further strengthened by his experience across diverse academic environments, including his previous role at Nazarbayev University. Collectively, these contributions position him at the forefront of processes that shape how research is developed, evaluated, and disseminated globally.
