In Ughelli, Ughelli North local government area, they marched through the popular Otowodo Junction and blocked the Ughelli/Bayelsa Expressway.

Army and police personnel were in their vehicles along with the protesters.

Police personnel at the early time of the protest fired canisters ostensibly to disperse the protesters but the action was promptly halted to give way for a peaceful protest.

Ughelli North local government chairman, Barr. Egbo, who opted to speak with the protesters was rebuffed.

For almost three hours, the protesters blocked the Asaba-Benin expressway in Agbor, beating passengers and destroying vehicles.

They were forcefully dispersed with the use of tear gas and the road was later cleared.

Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), Delta command, Bright Edafe, said; “We got a call over the disturbance. The CP deployed the deputy commissioner operations who led tactical teams to Agbor and stopped the blockage, violent protest is not protest, it is criminal.”
