Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has approved the appointment of the state chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Tukur Hassan Dan Ali, and two others as permanent secretaries in the state civil service.
The approval was announced in a statement issued by the Head of the State Civil Service, Mallam Falalu Bawale.
The other appointees are Junaidu Muntari from Kankara local government area and Yahaya Abdullahi from Safana local government area.
Bawale said the appointments were based on merit, noting that the candidates emerged successful after a rigorous examination conducted by the Public Service Institute of Nigeria on behalf of the state government.
According to him, the process reflects the Radda administration’s commitment to professionalism and competence in the civil service.
He said the ongoing reforms were anchored on meritocracy, performance and integrity to ensure a responsive and efficient public sector.
The Head of Service urged the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries to align themselves with the administration’s “Building Your Future” agenda, emphasising the strategic importance of their offices to the socio-economic development of the state.
He also charged them to live up to public expectations by discharging their duties with diligence, professionalism, and a strong sense of responsibility to the growth and stability of the Katsina State Civil Service.
The appointments take immediate effect as the state government intensifies efforts to reposition the civil service for effective and efficient service delivery across Katsina State.
