Ahead the September 21 Edo State gubernatorial election, candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Dr Isaiah Osifo has advised the electorate not to vote for the candidates of godfathers.
He said political leadership is clearly the problem of Nigeria and Edo State, and pointed out that he is ready for effective political leadership in the state and country.
Osifo, who gave the advice in a press statement at the weekend in Benin-City said if elected governor, he would bring academics together to refine crude oil in his first 100 days in office.
He said he would replicate the achievements of Peter Obi and Prof Charles Soludo in Anambra State, maintaining that he shares a similar background an alumnus of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka with Peter Obi and Charles Soludo, adding; “Our political ideology is similar and I will work to surpass the records of the APGA governors in Anambra State.”
“By the grace of God, providing health, energy and the resources, I will continue to fight for good political leadership in my State and in my country. I was privileged to school in Nigeria and in the United Kingdom, and I know that the main factor that is responsible for development in the developed world and the backward trend in Nigeria/ Edo State is leadership,” he said.
