Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu has solicited the support of spouses of state governors for the Akwo Ibom State’s acting first lady, Mrs. Helen Obareki towards realising the goals of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) and the Golden Initiative For All (GIFA) projects.
Senator Tinubu made the call when she introduced Mrs. Obareki to the Nigeria Governors’ Wives Forum (NGWF) as the coordinator for all activities of the office of the late Governor Umo Eno’s wife, Patience.
The President’s wife intimated the forum, that Mrs. Obareki, the first daughter to the Akwa Ibom State Governor was her late mother’s Personal Assistant (PA) before her passing, and must be recognised and supported to succeed.
Mrs Tinubu, who is the National Chairman of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), introduced Obareki as the Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady of Akwa Ibom State to the forum and solicited their support towards the realisation of the presidential objectives under the RHI, and the GIFA, a pet project of the late Patience Eno.
Our correspondent gathered that during the meeting held in the Conference Room of the Office of the First Lady, State House in Abuja with the governors’ spouses who also double as State Coordinators of the RHI, Mrs Tinubu appealed to the forum to embrace and integrate Obareki.
She told the governors’ wives that, “It was the desire of His Excellency, Governor Eno that Mrs. Obareki continues with the legacies of her late mother, Patience, who had coordinated the RHI programme in the State along with other duties, including her pet project, the GIFA.”
LEADERSHIP recalls that Governor Eno appointed his first daughter, Mrs Obareki to step into the role of her late mother as the Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady, following the demise of Mrs. Eno on September 26, 2024.
