The Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Akwa Ibom State, Prince Ikim, has called for national unity and renewed commitment to peace as Christians across the country celebrate Easter.

In a statement marking the occasion, Ikim described Easter as a sacred season symbolising sacrifice, hope, and renewal through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, urging Nigerians to reflect on its core values of love, compassion, and selflessness.

“Easter is a time for reflection and service to humanity. We must embrace peace, unity, and collective responsibility in building a better society,” he said.

As part of activities to commemorate the celebration, he disclosed that welfare packages had been distributed to vulnerable groups across Akwa Ibom State, reaffirming the group’s commitment to social support and community engagement.

Ikim commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as proactive leadership and commitment to national development, particularly citing ongoing infrastructure projects such as the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway.

According to him, the project’s inclusion of Akwa Ibom State is expected to boost economic activities, improve connectivity, and create new opportunities for residents of the South-South region.

He also lauded the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, describing him as a stabilising force whose leadership has enhanced political harmony and coordination within the state.

The coordinator further commended the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Umo Eno, for what he termed inclusive and people-oriented governance, highlighting strides in infrastructure, rural development, economic empowerment, and social welfare programmes.

Ikim noted that the working relationship between the governor and the Senate President has fostered a stable political environment, enabling development initiatives to thrive.

He urged Nigerians to remain steadfast, hopeful, and supportive of government efforts, stressing that the Easter season offers a reminder of renewal and the possibility of a more peaceful and prosperous nation.

Ikim wished Christians a joyful and spiritually fulfilling Easter celebration.
