Alhaji Bature Abdulaziz, a prominent Nigerian business tycoon, trade union leader, and community leader based in Kano, has passed away.
Abdulaziz was widely known for his leadership within Nigeria’s trading community and gained notable recognition through his role as a leader of the Kantin Kwari Market Traders Association in Kano metropolis.
He served as the National President of the Harmonized Traders Union of Nigeria, where he championed business growth, economic empowerment, and the protection of traders and entrepreneurs nationwide.
He was also the National President of the Patriotic Elders Network for Peace (PENP), an organisation focused on national security, peacebuilding, and political advocacy.
Confirming his death, one of his sons, Ismail Abdulaziz, said the business tycoon passed away after a brief illness.
“My father, Alhaji Bature Abdulaziz, passed away after a short illness. We are deeply saddened by his loss, but thankful for the impact he made on his community,” he said.
According to the family, funeral prayers will be held on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. at his residence in Yankaba Quarters, Kano.
