He said that to ensure equal opportunity for all eligible students, they had launched an online application portal, allowing candidates from across the 23 political wards of Fika/ Fune federal constituency to apply.
The gesture is part of the legislator’s efforts at empowering his constituents, as he recently presented empowerment items to people drawn from the two LGAs of the federal constituency.

He said the gesture was to alleviate the students’ sufferings. He added that payment of stipends will commence soon, noting that payments shall be made in batches of 200 students each until all batches are exhausted.

Meanwhile, the attached list of 200 students (Batch B) will start receiving their alerts following the submission process, which includes forwarding the students’ records to their respective institutions for verification.

LEADERSHIP gathered that only four institutions have completed the verification process, which included Federal College of Education Technical, Potiskum; Federal Polytechnic, Damaturu; Federal University, Gashua; and Yobe State University, Damaturu.

Jajere added that, “As a result of this development, the scholarship secretariat approved the disbursement of thirty thousand naira (₦30,000) each to the first batch of two hundred (200) verified students.”

He said, “However, subsequent batches of 200 students will follow. As more institutions complete their verification processes, the scholarship award will be given to 200 students per batch.”
