Yobe State Police Command has directed an immediate manhunt for the fleeing suspects in the killing of a 16-year-old girl found in Gashua local government area of the state.

A statement signed by  SP Dungus Abdulkarim said that investigation has since commenced with a view to identifying, tracing, and arresting the perpetrators behind the heinous crime.

The statement said that on 16th November 2025, at about 0900hrs, a distress call was received at the Bade Divisional Police Headquarters from Mai Anguwa Idris Haruna of Dadin Kowa Ward.

He reported that on the same date, Sadiya Suleiman, aged 16, of Sabon Gari Ward, was found in a pool of blood with her throat slit near the New Prison Fence, Gashu’a.

The command, on receipt of the report, mobilised detectives immediately to the scene and evacuated the victim to the Specialist Hospital, Gashu’a, where medical examination revealed that the victim was raped and brutally attacked before being killed.
