Rivers Assembly Confirms Ex-Wike’s Aide, 4 Others As Commissioners

The Rivers State House of Assembly has screened and confirmed the immediate-past Chief of Staff, Government House, Engr. Chukwuemeka Woke, and four other nominees as Commissioners-designate.

Others are the former Commissioner for Social Welfare under Wike-led administration, Mrs. Inime Aguma; former Director of Finance and Administration, Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Hon. Henry Ogiri; Nwafor Uchechukwu, and Kenneth Chisom Gbali.

However, Ogiri, who was a member of the State House of Assembly, was told by the lawmakers to take a bow and go.

Governor Siminalaye Fubara had on Thursday forwarded the names of the Commissioner-nominees to the State House of Assembly, for screening and confirmation.

Recall that the ninth Rivers State House of Assembly, had on May 30, 2023, screened and confirmed four former commissioners in the immediate-past administration in the State, whose names were forwarded to it by Fubara.

 

The former commissioners, including Professor Zaccheaus Adangor, Dr. Dakorinama George-Kelly, Hon Isaac Kamalu and Professor Chinedu Mmon, were subsequently swornin by the governor on May 31, 2023 and redeployed to their former ministries.
