Schools Resume Tomorrow In Abia

‎Private and public schools in Abia State resume tomorrow across the state for the 2025/2026 Academic Session.

‎The commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Goodluck Ubochi stated this yesterday in a statement in Umuahia, the capital.

‎The statement enjoined parents and guardians to release their children and wards to school as effective teaching and learning would commence in earnest.

‎He explained that the first term midterm break would be observed from  November 5 to 9 while the term will end on December 12.

‎The commissioner also advised the schools to adhere strictly to the calendar as approved by the government, warning that defaulters will face the consequences

‎He urged the newly recruited 5,349 teachers by the government to report to their place of posting, though he posting has been followed by complaints.

‎At the end of a 12-day capacity training organised for the teachers ahead of the date, Ubochi had stressed that they should report as directed.

‎”Whether your problems have been addressed or not, please do well to report to whoever you are posted,” he said.
