LEADERSHIP gathered that the party also appointed leaders for each of the three senatorial zones with a view to lure aggrieved members from both Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the ruling All progressive Congress (APC).

Those appointed were Prof Rabiu Bello from Niger North, Musa Ma’ali former Speaker Niger State House of Assembly and Hussein Umar to lead the membership drive.

The chairman, who is also the Makaman Minna, disclosed that the 25 local government caretaker chairmen would identify ward chairmen for their respective areas for aggressive  membership registration. He said the people have shown willingness to adopt SDP as the party for the state.

Buhari said “All members of SDP, especially those saddled with positions of responsibility should see the coming of SDP  as a new beginning which should be taken seriously as the party is poised to take up the leadership of the nation,” he said.
