Governor of Bauchi State Bala Mohammed has promised to bring new commissioners and other chief executives to take charge of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in his second term for better results.
He said, “With the easing out of commissioners and chief executives of other government agencies, new hands would be appointed to take charge of the MDAs. There is therefore the need for handover notes to be prepared so as to adequately acquaint the incoming commissioners of the structures and responsibilities of the MDAs.”
The governor said the new commissioners had become imperative in view of the need for the MDAs to optimally perform towards the realisation of “My Bauchi Project.”
Governor Bala, who inaugurated the State Transition Committee ahead of May 29, 2023 take-off of the new government, said the new commissioners would be required to continue from where their predecessors stopped and work relentlessly towards implementing their people-oriented policies and projects.
“As you are aware, our second term tenure will commence on 29th of May, 2023 when I will be sworn-in for the second time as the chief executive of the state for another four years. This effectively marks the end of our first tenure.
“Consequently, all political appointees would be eased out of the system and new ones will be appointed. Of course, I am not, however foreclosing the reappointment of some of those that have creditably and faithfully served in our first term,” he said.
While commending the sagacity of compatriots for giving them the mandate to continue to serve for four more years, the governor assured of their irrevocable commitment to ensuring that by the end of the new four-year tenure Bauchi State could be favourably compared to any other state in the country.
He also described Ministries, Departments and Agencies as the vehicles for the realisation of the developmental objectives of a government through the implementation of its policies and programmes, and commended the MDAs for executing the various projects that have made Bauchi one of the best states in the provision of infrastructural facilities and social amenities.
“I must commend the commitment, moral and financial discipline of the staff of all the MDAs in carrying out their official responsibilities. It is these attributes that made it possible for us to execute many projects with little resources,” Bala added.
