The armed hoodlums stormed the premises of the corporate office of the State-owned media company located along Information Drive, Uyo, carting away some items amid sporadic gunshots.

Obot, who was among the security guards manning the media outfit, was hit by a bullet during the incident, leading to his death.

Properties carted away, according to a senior reporter with the newspaper, who would not want his name mentioned, included a generator, flat screen televisions, electric cables and other essential items.

The journalist expressed deep sadness over the death of the security guard even as he suspected insider collaboration with the robbers over the incident.
