The Seeds of Hope initiative by the ASVIOL Support Initiative, in partnership with the French Embassy in Nigeria, is transforming lives in Kaduna by empowering 50 women from the Tudun Biri community through climate-smart agriculture, economic training, and social support, officials said at a photo exhibition marking International Women’s Day 2026.

Titled: “Harvest of Resilience: An Art and Impact Exhibition,” the event showcased months of training, adaptation, and growth among the beneficiaries through photographs and a documentary. Beyond agricultural progress, the exhibition highlighted the women’s resilience, recovery, and renewed dignity.

Executive director of ASVIOL, Hassana Maina, explained that the initiative integrates economic empowerment with social protection, enabling women to rebuild their lives, support their families, and contribute to local economies.

The exhibition drew stakeholders from the Kaduna State Ministries of Agriculture and Women Affairs, civil society organizations, the Kaduna State Police Command, NAPTIP, and members of the Tudun Biri community, many of whom attested to the initiative’s measurable impact.

As part of the event, ASVIOL presented a policy brief to the Kaduna State Government, advocating for the institutionalization and scale-up of the Seeds of Hope model statewide. The framework combines climate-smart agriculture, women’s economic empowerment, and strategies to prevent sexual and gender-based violence, offering a sustainable approach to community resilience.
