The senator representing Sokoto East Senatorial District, Ibrahim Lamido, has vowed to leave All Progressives Congress (APC) if the current insecurity persists in his constituency.
He disclosed this during an interview with journalists in Sokoto.
Lamido said his decision was as a result of persistent attacks by bandits on communities across his constituency.
Lamido lamented that several villages had been devastated, with residents displaced and means of livelihoods destroyed.
The lawmaker called on the federal government to intensify efforts in tackling banditry and restoring peace to Sokoto State and other affected parts of Northern Nigeria.
Though, he did not disclose his next political move, but our correspondent gathered that some of his key associates who resigned from APC had joined ADC.
