The senator representing Plateau North Senatorial District in the National Assembly Pam Dachungyang, has called for the immediate investigation of the tragic collapse of a building at Saint Academy Secondary School, Busa Buji, Jos, which resulted in 22 deaths and hundreds of others injured.

He urged the Jos Metropolitan Development Board (JMDB) to maintain momentum in executing the state government’s Executive Order 003, which seeks to rid the state of illegal and substandard structures.

Pam stated this during his visit to the site of the collapsed structure and called for strict adherence to building laws. He described the incident as an unprecedented disaster.

He expressed his intention to propose a motion in the National Assembly seeking legislation to ensure proper planning and construction of educational institutions.

The lawmaker also visited hospitals to encourage survivors and commended the Plateau State Government, security agencies, emergency workers, and the public for their prompt response.
