Holders Senegal will be without first-choice goalkeeper Idris Ndiaye for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN).

Ndiaye has been ruled out of the competition due to injury sustained during Génération Foot’s 1-0 victory over Jaraaf in the Senegal Cup final.

Senegal head coach Souleymane Diallo has called up Cheikh Lô Ndoye from Jaraaf Dakar as his replacement. Ndoye is expected to join the rest of the squad in Zanzibar next Monday.

Marco Diouf (Teungueth FC) and Samba Mballo (US Gorée) are the other goalkeepers included in the squad.

Senegal will commence their campaign in the CHAN 2024 finals against Nigeria next Tuesday. The Group D encounter is set to take place at the Amman Stadium in Zanzibar, where Sudan and Congo Brazzaville will also compete.
