Ghanaian musician, Abdul Kadir, popularly known as Captan, has claimed that his former record label boss, Shatta Wale, once rescued Nigerian music superstar, Burna Boy, from a police cell in Ghana after he was arrested for smoking marijuana.

Captan made the statment during a recent podcast interview, where he opened up about the past relationship between the two African music giants.

According to the singer, the incident happened years ago, before Burna Boy achieved global stardom. He stated that Shatta Wale personally sent him and a few other crew members to secure Burna Boy’s release from police custody.

Captan also claimed that Shatta Wale’s camp once provided accommodation and protection for the Nigerian singer when some dangerous individuals were allegedly hunting him down.

“I once bailed Burna Boy out of prison in Ghana when he was arrested for smoking weed. Shatta Wale sent me and some guys to go and free him from police custody. There was a time we also accommodated him when some people were after his life. We helped him settle the case.”

The Ghanaian artist further said that he is no longer on speaking terms with Burna Boy following the public fallout between the Nigerian star and Shatta Wale.

He, however, noted that both he and Shatta Wale are mature enough to put the past behind them and reconcile with Burna Boy if he reaches out to them.
