Shettima Tasks Investors On Opportunities In Jigawa

Vice President Kashim Shettima has opened the 2nd Jigawa State Economic InvestmentĀ  Summit.

He called on local and international investors to take advantage of the opportunities in the state, which guarantee strong returns on investment.

At the event held at the Banquet Hall of Government House in Dutse, the Vice President noted that the state offers numerous opportunities and areas of comparative advantage that provide an enabling environment for any individual or company willing to invest.

He identified agriculture, mining, commerce, and industry as key sectors that ensure profitable returns for investors in the state.

ShettimaĀ  commended Governor Malam Umar Namadi for his transformative efforts in the state’s agricultural sector, road construction, and other critical infrastructure needed to support sustainable business and investment.

He also assured investors of the federal government’s support to both the state government and any individual or company expressing interest in investing in Jigawa, with a view to creating jobs, fostering growth, andĀ  development.

In his address, Governor Umar Namadi outlined the various projects and programmes his administration has implemented to create a conducive environment for commerce and investment in the state.

“We have constructed hundreds of kilometres of roads to facilitate the movement of goods and services, upgraded the Dutse International Airport to a cargo airport, enhanced security architecture, boosted power generation and supply, and transformed agriculture from subsistence to commercial farming through farmers empowerment and agricultural mechanisation policies,” he said.

He also highlighted efforts in supporting technical and vocational training for youths to produce the required manpower, improving learning outcomes from primary to tertiary institutions, empowering individuals and groups through business support, and enhancing other critical public service deliveries.

” For the investorsĀ  here present and those following via the media, “We are ready to provide waivers, facilitate all required documentation, and ensure timely approvals needed for the take-off of your investments in our state,” he said.

The governor reiterated his administration’s commitment and that of Jigawa Communities in protecting investors interest, noting that the state remains one of the most peaceful in Nigeria, with diverse economic opportunities.
