A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Sani Shinkafi, has commended President Bola Tinubu for nominating former Zamfara State governor, Dr Bello Matawalle, as minister, describing it as a “giant step to a prosperous Nigeria”.
In a statement made available to journalists in Abuja yesterday, Shinkafi said Matawalle’s nomination had reinforced confidence in Tinubu’s determination to redirect the ship of the nation to the path of rectitude, progress, development and advancement.
“A proven leader, administrator and grassroots politician, Dr Matawalle will add value to the government of President Tinubu as citizens yearn for dividends of democracy.
“He is a team player and an experienced politician who served as commissioner, three times member of House of Representatives and executive governor of Zamfara State for one term. Matawalle delivered Zamfara State to Tinubu with the highest number of votes in the whole North West region. Tinubu has renewed the confidence of members of APC in Zamfara State by nominating him as a minister,” he said.
Shinkafi who was also a member of Bola Ahmed Tinubu Presidential Campaign Council, noted that Matawalle’s achievements as governor of Zamfara State despite security challenges was a testimony to his competence and capacity to meet the yearnings, aspirations and expectations of the people under his watch.
