Singapore Extends Deadline For A4G Fellowship To July 9

Singapore International Foundation (SIF) has extended the deadline for the application to its artistic cultural exchange programme, Art for Good (A4G) Fellowship to 9th of July, 2023.

The annual fellowship which centers on fostering a community of practitioners who harness the power of arts and culture to create positive social change brings together individuals from diverse sectors including artists, art administrators and social sector professionals on an exciting journey of change. Upon completion of the programme, they join a global alumni network where they continue to connect, support and collaborate with one another.

This year, participants in the sixth edition will explore holistic, art-based approaches to aging healthily and gratefully. Themed Empowering Meaningful Ageing Through the Arts, it will go beyond traditional healthcare practices to examine how participation in the arts can enhance the well-being of senior citizens.

The exchange comprises a hybrid format: with the virtual sessions holding October 4 to 6, 2023, November 3, 2023, and December 1, 2023. In-person sessions in Singapore takes place January 22 to 26, 2024.

Virtual sessions will build capacity of selected participants via exchange of diverse skills from their various backgrounds; while in-person exchange will deepen fellows connection with one another,  offer them opportunity to meet different stakeholders through experiential workshops, peer sharing, learning journeys and networking sessions. It will further create opportunity for fellows to creatively respond to current challenges faced by social service organisations in Singapore, and participate in some of the exciting events at the Singapore Art Week, 2024 next year.

To qualify for the fellowship, selected applicants be a practitioner in arts, culture or creative industry, be it as an artist, art administrator, arts educator or arts programmer, or a professional in the social sector. They must have prior experience working with a community through the arts, with demonstrated interest in art-based projects aimed at creating social impact, must be able to attend all components of the programme, must be above 21 years old, and have access to stable Internet connectivity.
