Former Nigeria national football team defender Sam Sodje has called for sweeping reforms within the Nigeria Football Federation, warning that the current structure is hindering progress.
Speaking to Brila FM, Sodje stressed the need for a complete rethink in administration and long-term planning.
“We have to start thinking about where we are as a country. The NFF has to be reformed, the old guard must give way, and preparation has to be prioritised,” he said.
He also highlighted organisational and technical shortcomings, noting that improvements are needed at administrative level rather than within the national team’s coaching setup led by Eric Chelle.
According to Sodje, Nigeria must develop a clear footballing vision to meet the expectations of its passionate supporters.
