Sokoto Gets New Police Commissioner

A new commissioner of police has assumed duty in Sokoto State. Ahmed Musa, the 48th commissioner of police in the state, took over from Ali Hayatu Kaigama, who has retired from active service.

The commissioner who hails from Mubi North local government area of Adamawa State began his career when he was enlisted on  June 20, 1994 as a cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police after training at the Nigeria Police Academy Wudil, Kano. He was posted to Kogi State command as an ASP on probation. Since then, he grew in the force and served as general duty personnel in the field of administration, operations, traffic management and investigations, among others.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Maiduguri and has participated in the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
