Sokoto Professionals Pledge To Fast-track State Development

Sokoto Professionals Network (SPN), a voluntary and non-governmental organisation, is poised to collaborate with the state government and other relevant agencies to develop the state.

The SPN which is a network of professionals of Sokoto state origin working in the fields of science, technology, humanity, arts, and other public and private sector in Nigerian will continue to liaise with indigenes of like minds with a view to remove the state from shackles of under development.

The chairman of SPN, Engineer Zayyanu Tambari Yabo, said the organization will set a purposeful foundation that will coordinate and execute laudable programs and projects to complement the developmental efforts of the state government.

He said, “We will collaborate with relevant agencies to organize career talks in various schools to serve as guiding principles for students to help mould and shape their career choices for upcoming generations.

“SPN will also focus on the requirements needed by students and young graduates to build a successful career in different fields of human endeavour.”

In a goodwill message at the launch of the endowment fund organized by the group, the director general of Nigeria Automotive Design and Development Commission, Engineer Jelani Aliyu expressed delight with the new initiative unveiled by young professionals in the state.

He said, the coming together of young and talented professionals for a common course will be a yardstick for measuring the development of Sokoto state and the country at large.

Governor Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto, who was represented by Hon Nasiru Dantsoho donated a utility vehicle to the group and a plot of land to build a secretariat in the state metropolis.

He said the state government is willing to partner with any organization, association, or group wishing to contribute to the development of the state.
