Nigerian writer and media personality Solomon Buchi has weighed in on the engagement of popular content creators Peller and Jarvis, urging the couple to undergo marriage counselling before tying the knot.
Speaking in a video, Buchi stressed that while he is a strong advocate of early marriage, lasting unions require more than love or online chemistry. According to him, young couples should embrace guidance, mentorship and a willingness to learn as they prepare for married life.
He argued that marriage should not be approached in the same way as content creation, noting that the realities of married life extend far beyond entertaining followers on social media.
Saying he does not want to sound like a hater, Buchi admitted that he loves early marriage.
“But I believe it should come with maturity, openness to advice, and mentorship. Marriage is more than streaming and fooling around on social media. If they want to take marriage seriously, they should get marriage counselling,” he said.
His remarks come amid growing conversations online following Peller and Jarvis’ engagement.
