Soludo Begins 10 Million Tree Planting Programme

Anambra State Governor , Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has flagged of a 10 million economic tree planting programme in the state.

He said during the event held at the Achebe Stadium, Fegge, Onitsha – South LGA of the yesterday that the programme was targeted at providing every household sustainable means of survival.

He said it would involve the distribution of 1, 040,000 seedlings made up of 700,000 palm seedlings, 200,000 Ukwa ( breast fruit), 50,000 Akilu ( bitter – cola) and 50,000 Oji-Igbo ( Igbo cola-nut) adding that the seedlings when distributed would bring a total of seedlings distributed by his administration to 2.2 million.

He said his administration was committed to re-inventing the agricultural programme of the former Eastern regional government of the Late Dr. M. I. Okpara.
