Businesswoman Sophia Momodu has served a notice of intended legal proceedings to actress and reality television star Caroline Hutchings, demanding a public apology and N10 billion in damages over an allegedly defamatory social media post.

The legal notice, sent by Momodu’s lawyer, Prince Richard Oma Ahonaruogho, SAN, claims that a post shared by Hutchings on the social media platform Snapchat was aimed at Momodu. The legal team argued that the publication has caused Momodu severe emotional distress, cyberbullying, and damage to her reputation.

The dispute follows a post by Hutchings in which she claimed that a woman she had previously defended on national television had been secretly involved with her former partner.

The notice demands that Hutchings immediately retract the post, issue an unreserved public apology, and pay the sum of N10 billion in damages for the harm caused to Momodu’s character.
