The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar has called for full utilisation of the research conducted by the Alumni Association of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (AANI) to address challenges facing the country.

Abubakar, who made the call during a courtesy visit to him by AANI’s National President, Ambassador Emmanuel Okafor, as part of activities of the Sokoto State chapter’s Annual General Meeting noted that AANI members had extensively analysed Nigeria’s problems and offered valuable recommendations.

“There is no challenge in Nigeria that has not been thoroughly examined by AANI members, with generous solutions provided.

“AANI members had made significant contributions to policy-making and recommendations aimed at fostering effective leadership in Nigeria.

“I firmly believe that the research conducted by AANI can address the country’s numerous challenges and enhance the relationship between leaders and the people,” Abubakar said.

The Sultan also noted the association’s commitment to supporting the government in formulating policies towards addressing national development and the needs of the people.

He congratulated the newly elected Sokoto State chapter leaders on their two-year term and commended the outgone executives for their dedication and contributions to the association’s growth.

AANI’s national president highlighted its long-standing tradition of offering strategic policy recommendations to the government since its establishment in 1979.

Okafor also praised the Sultan as a figure of peace while noting the importance of involving traditional leaders in governance; given their close connection to the grassroots.

AANI’s outgone Chairman in the state, Dr Abubakar Mohammad, reaffirmed the commitment of the Institute’s members to advancing policies that would benefit the country.

In his acceptance speech, the new Chairman, Alhaji Shehu Ladan, pledged to enhance the visibility of AANI and build mutually beneficial relationships with partners and stakeholders.

He called for support, constructive criticism, and encouragement of members, stating, “Together, we will achieve great things.”

The newly elected executives include the Vice Chairperson, Aisha Hassan; Secretary General, Aisha Dantsoho, and Financial Secretary, Bello Wamakko.

Others are the Legal Adviser, Gandi Umar; Treasurer, Professor Mansur Ibrahim; Publicity Secretary, Amina Garba; Assistant Secretary, Malami Ahmad; and the Auditor, Bello Yahaya.
