The farm located behind the Offa University was reportedly attacked by suspected herdsmen said to be migrating from an unknown location.
The spokesman of the state command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Babawale Afolabi, confirmed the incident.
He said the herdsmen arrived the farm at about 6:00 pm to unleash violence on the farmers. It was gathered that the farmers also fought back and wounded some cows.
It was also gathered that the attackers took to their heels when the farmers alerted the Offa Civil Defence Joint Task Force (JTF).
“The JTF Offa Division and vigilante team went to the farm where a victim was rescued and moved to a nearby hospital along Ilemona community for medical treatment.
“Meanwhile, in the effort to arrest the suspects, the cows belonging to the herdsmen were recovered at the farm and most of them were wounded by farmers.
“Later, a Fulani man in the area, Alhaji Sabo Yaro, intervened and promised to assist the security operatives to get the suspects,” Afolabi stated.
