State chairmen of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in the South-West, have passed a vote of confidence on the national leadership of the party.

This is coming just as the party has commenced series of actions to help promote the presence of the NNPP in the South-West geopolitical zone ahead of the forthcoming off-season elections.

The move was sequel to a meeting of South-West State chairmen held in Lagos on Thursday presided over by the National Vice Chairman of the party in the zone, Prince Ademola Ayoade.

According to a statement jointly signed by the Hon. Ayeni and Mrs. Ronnie Dikko-Kila, the party chairmen of Ekiti and Lagos States, respectively, they quoted Ayoade as stating that, “the State Chairmen and I have met to discuss and chart the way forward for the party in the zone.

“We agreed that our confidence in the leadership of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and the Dr Ajuji Ahmed-led National Executive and National Working Committees, remain unshaken.”

The Osun State party chairman, Pastor Tosin Odeyemi, stated that what’s uttermost in their minds was the issue of party discipline and the need to revamp the structures of the party to the ward level.

“We realise that we cannot achieve much where some members lack discipline and do as they choose. Going forward, the party will no longer tolerate indiscipline from its members. We must be united and be a cohesive force as we restructure towards 2027,” he stated.

It was also agreed at the meeting that there would be zonal consultations and strategic meetings in order to grow the party.

Speaking further, Oyo State chairman of the party, Hon. Motunde Fajuyi, stated that: “The consultations will begin in earnest and we are planning that there will also be a South-West meeting in Osun State in the last quarter of this year.”
