T2 has entered into a multi-million-dollar partnership with Huawei, a global ICT giant, to overhaul and modernise its core network infrastructure.
T2 said this is a strategic move that marks its re-emergence in Nigeria’s competitive telecommunications landscape.
This was disclosed at a formal signing ceremony in Lagos. The partnership underscores T2’s renewed ambition to reassert itself as a dominant player in the sector.
The agreement will see Huawei deploy cutting-edge technologies to significantly upgrade T2’s core systems enhancing network capacity, performance, resilience, and security.
While the move described as a pivotal milestone in T2’s transformation journey, the collaboration signals the start of a comprehensive, multi-phase investment programme that aligns with the company’s strategic roadmap: ‘Stabilisation, Modernisation, Transformation, and Growth.’
Speaking at the signing event, T2’s chief executive officer, Obafemi Banigbe, described the partnership as a defining moment in the company’s evolution.

In his remark, the chief executive officer of the Nigeria Carrier Business division, Mr. Jiang Junyong, affirmed the company’s readiness to deliver a world-class solution tailored to T2’s long-term goals.
