Talay Riley’s Brother Reflects On Final Conversation After Singer’s Death

Michael Orabiyi, also known as ‘Scribz Riley’, has spoken publicly for the first time following the death of his brother and close associate, Talay Riley, ‘Yinka Orabiyi’.

Talay was reportedly stabbed to death in Silvertown, London, on 5 June 2026.

In an emotional Instagram post, Scribz said he had spoken with Talay shortly before going to bed. He recalled that their conversation focused on the future, staying hopeful and the goals they still wanted to achieve.

He said neither of them knew it would be their final conversation.

He said:

“Just before he went to sleep, we spoke about the future, staying positive and about everything we still had left to do. I never imagined that would be our last conversation.”

Scribz said Talay Riley was far more than a friend to him.

In his tribute, he described the late singer as a brother, mentor and source of inspiration. He also praised his kindness and generosity.

Scribz reflected on the lasting impact Talay had on the people around him and the many lives he touched.

“Yinka wasn’t just my brother. He was my mother’s son, a friend to many, a mentor, an inspiration, and a light in so many people’s lives,” he added.

According to him, Talay Riley had one of the kindest hearts he had ever known. He said the singer was always generous and gave freely to others.

He added that Talay’s music, family, friendships and the lives he touched would keep his memory alive for years to come.

Born into a Nigerian family in London, Talay Riley developed a love for music at an early age. He was inspired by his siblings and the sounds of the early 1990s.

He began singing at just five years old. His career later gained attention after he featured on Chipmunk’s 2009 hit single ‘Look for Me’, which charted in the UK.

As fans continue to mourn, Scribz Riley’s final words remain a poignant reminder of a future that was never fully realised.

He concluded:

“Even with everything you accomplished, this was far too soon. I love you, brother. Thank you for everything. Rest in paradise, Yinka.”
