Taraba State community in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, has reaffirmed its commitment to unity and mutual coexistence for the overall development of the state.
The chairman of the community, Ambassador Likam, made this known at the end of year event, tagged: “Taraba Day”, held at the Luxe Lush Event Centre, River State Garden, Wuse II, Abuja.
The event, which brought together illustrious sons and daughters of Taraba State, was the first of it kind, with the theme: “Nigeria and Taraba: Strengthening Bonds for Mutual Development.”
The community is made up of stakeholders across political divide, social strata and religion circle, where about 12 persons were honoured with an award for distinguishing themselves in their various fields of endeavours.
Likam, who expressed gratitude for the success of the event, acknowledged the unwavering support being accorded to the leadership of the association, and promised not to disappoint them.
The chairman of the occasion, Danladi Kifasi, commended the association for their consistent efforts toward peace and development of Taraba State and Nigeria as a whole.
In a remark, Mr. William Karshima, the CEO of Kashco International (USA), stressed the need for unity in order to attract enviable development to the state.
“When the hands that should build start pointing instead, no wall will ever rise, but when all hearts, hands and hopes unite, development will certainly thrives,” he said.
