Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba North Senatorial District have called on the party leadership to respect and uphold the outcome of the party’s senatorial primary election in the district.

The appeal was made jointly by the Coordinator of Taraba North Stakeholders, Hon. Abubakar Umar Ibrahim, and the General Secretary of the Conference of APC Support Groups, Dr. Bilal Galadima, in a statement issued on Monday.

The stakeholders congratulated Hon. Muhammad Kabir Bello on his emergence as the APC senatorial candidate for Taraba North, describing the process that produced him as credible and in line with the party’s guidelines.

They also extended congratulations to Senator Haruna Manu of Taraba Central and Senator David Jimkuta of Taraba South for emerging as the party’s candidates in their respective districts.

According to the group, the primary election was conducted by the APC National Assembly Primary Election Committee and monitored by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The stakeholders, however, raised concerns over what they described as alleged attempts by certain interests within the party to alter the outcome of the Taraba North primary.

They argued that reversing the declared result could weaken confidence in the party’s internal democratic process and create avoidable tensions ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“The will of APC members in Taraba North must be respected. The primary election was conducted in accordance with party guidelines, observed by INEC and produced a clear winner,” the statement said.

The group urged the APC leadership and relevant authorities to protect the integrity of the process and ensure that the outcome already announced remains unchanged.

They maintained that preserving the credibility of the exercise would strengthen party unity and reassure members that internal contests are conducted fairly and transparently.
