The union also demanded for payment of the outstanding full salaries of July to December, 2022; outstanding promotion arrears of the non-academic staff, earned administrative allowances (EAA) for non-teaching staff on a ratio of 50:50 with the academic staff and the review of the usurpation of headship meant for the non-academic staff by the academic staff of university farm manager, university admission officer, director CBT, director of ICT and director of sports.

During the protest, NASU chairman, Solomon Ishaya Audu and SSANU chairman, Bitrus Joseph Ajibauka called on management of the university, to do the needful as a matter of necessity to alleviate the hardship of the aggrieved members in the interest of industrial harmony.

The union however appreciated the university council and management for the payment of February, 2022 salary.

Addressing the protesting staff, the VC, Prof Sunday Bako assured that the university management and the government were working hard to meet the legitimate demands of the staff.
