The Healthcare Administrators Association of Nigeria (HAAN), has added to the number of fellows in its fold
In an induction/investiture ceremony held in Abuja, President/CEO of HAAN, Bishop Pinot Ogbaji, Ph.D, emphasised the organisation ’s mission to advance healthcare administration through professionalism, ethics, and innovation.
A key moment of the event was the formal investiture of distinguished healthcare administrators. These individuals, recognised for their outstanding contributions to the sector, were honoured with certificates and official customised academic gowns symbolising their commitment to excellence.
Among those recognised was senior medical officer, University of Lagos,(UNILAG), Dr Oluwasanmi Akintoyinbo Akinyera, Akinyera was recognised for his contribution to the healthcare sector.
Speaking to LEADERSHIP, Akinyera, noted that other countries have a specialised faculty for healthcare administration, which is lacking in Nigeria.” Nigeria lacks a faculty that takes care of administration and management of hospitals,that’s why many hospitals in Nigeria are not properly managed.So I’m happy that there is something like this going on to effectively train people who can manage hospitals.”

also called on the government to come up with policies and regulations,to ensure that hospitals have a proper management In place to run them, and added that it will go a long way in helping hospitals perform better.
At the event newly admitted professionals took the oath of commitment, marking their official entry into the esteemed institute. These inductees, drawn from diverse healthcare backgrounds, pledged to uphold the highest standards of healthcare administration and management.
