The chief operating officer of Kaduna Electric, Abubakar Sadiq Mohammed has assured customers of the Company, especially those on tariff Bands D and E, that the Company shall ensure fairness in power distribution in accordance with regulatory provisions.

He made the assertion in Kaduna while receiving a cross-section of stakeholders and community leaders from Hayin Malam Bello, Rigasa, Asikolaye, Sabon Garin Tudun Wada and Unguwar Sunusi in his office.
The CCO stated that the commitment of Kaduna Electric to ensuring that all customers of the Company received the minimum hours of supply as prescribed by the Service Based Tariff, SBT, regulation is unwavering.

“We shall not only ensure fairness in all our operations, but shall also ensure full compliance with the SBT regime; while we are complying with the regulatory directive as it affects customers on Bands A & B, we shall not neglect those on lower Bands, like D & E,” our ultimate aim is to bring all customers to higher bands subject to supply availability and capacity to distribute; he stated.

The Kaduna Electric’s Chief Operating Officer also disclosed that there is a capacity limitation in the Rigasa 2x15MVA injection substation which serves the communities. He assured the community leaders that the Company has adopted both short and long-term measures to address the situation.

Meanwhile, the representatives of the Communities and the Management of Kaduna Electric have signed a formal Communiquè to work together to improve service delivery and the commercial performance of the company in the areas.
