Area education officers, school support officers, and Arabic visiting teachers in Dambam local government area of Bauchi State have been urged to show greater commitment and diligence in the discharge of their duties as schools resume for the academic session.

The call was made by the director of Monitoring and Evaluation of the Bauchi State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Malam Abbas Abdulmumini, during an interactive meeting with education officers at the Dambam Local Government Secretariat Conference Hall.

Malam Abdulmumini explained that the meeting was part of SUBEB’s ongoing school resumption monitoring exercise aimed at assessing the level of compliance and preparedness of schools across the state.

According to him, the monitoring exercise seeks to determine the readiness of teachers, principals, and head teachers to effectively commence academic and other school activities, stressing that proper supervision remains key to improving teaching and learning outcomes in basic education.

He added that the visit was intended to strengthen oversight in the basic education sector in order to ensure quality service delivery.

Also speaking, a member of the monitoring team and Director of School Services at SUBEB, Malam Zuhairu Usman, called on education supervisors to carry out their responsibilities with fear of God, dedication, and professionalism.

He noted that teaching is a noble and God-fearing profession that demands commitment, discipline, and a strong sense of responsibility.

Usman further clarified that the monitoring and evaluation visits were not intended to witch-hunt or intimidate teachers, but rather to offer guidance, identify gaps, and effect necessary corrections to improve performance.
