An expert in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Solomon Ukporo, has expressed concern over the high unemployment rate amongst youths and has consequently floated a social media App – What’s Up Trivia, targeting at creating one million Jobs through brain – teasing and knowledge based games on Whatsapp.

Speaking during the official flag-off of the platform held at Vimpy Hotels and Suite, Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital at the weekend, Tech entrepreneur and chief executive officer (CEO) of the firm, explained that the innovation became necessary in order to lift millions between the age bracket of 18 and 65 out of poverty.

Welcoming participants to the official launch of the What’s Up Trivia, Ukporo, explained that the unveiling of the digital platform signals the beginning of a movement, “one that redefines how we see knowledge, how we reward brilliance, and how we empower the next generation.”

Anchored on the theme; “Bright Minds, Real Rewards: Igniting a New Era of Youth Excellence”, Ukporo, explained that the platform was a avenue to demonstrate youths’ ingenuity and intellectual process while making money in the process.

“For too long, we have lived in a world where talent is abundant, intelligence is everywhere, but opportunity is limited. We have seen brilliant young people—sharp, curious, capable—yet without the platforms to express, test, and monetize their knowledge, and that is the notion that What’s Up Trivia was built to change that,” he explained.

“As the founder and developer of this platform, this vision is deeply personal to me. I have always believed that knowledge should not just be admired—it should be rewarded. Intelligence should not just be acknowledged—it should open doors. And young people should not have to leave their potential untapped simply because there is no system that recognises and reward it.

“This platform does one simple but powerful thing,; It turns knowledge into opportunity,” he added.

According to the CEO, “through an engaging, accessible, and competitive experience delivered via platforms we already use every day—WhatsApp and Telegram—we are creating a space where anyone, anywhere, can participate, learn, compete, and win. No barriers, no complex entry requirements, just your mind and your willingness to challenge it, and that is why this initiative matters.”

He further explained that “because when you reward knowledge, you encourage learning, when you celebrate intelligence, you inspire excellence.
And when you empower youth, you shape the future.”

Urging the younger generation to embrace the innovation in order to safeguard their future, Ukporo, urged participants to good use of their devices to create wealth and knowledge instead of deploying them for cyber crimes.

“We are not just launching a trivia game, we are building a culture where smart is celebrated, learning is exciting and
excellence is rewarded. We are telling young people: your mind is valuable,
your knowledge has worth and your brilliance can pay.

“To our partners and stakeholders here today, this is also an invitation. An invitation to be part of a platform that is not only innovative but impactful. One that aligns entertainment with education, and engagement with empowerment,” he stressed.

The unveiling of the platform would be launch in Cross River, Rivers and other key Nigerian States as well as outside the country including Kenya, Rwanda, Ghana and others.
