Tennis Grand Slam: Ikoyi Club Lauds Zenith Bank As 93 Smashers Battle For Honours

The 2024 Zenith Bank Ikoyi Club Tennis Grand Slam will see 93 players fighting for honours in the competition which is in its 9th edition.

Speaking with cross section of media during a press conference to herald the competition, the vice-chairman of the Ikoyi Club tennis section, Evans Sunday Uko, who stood in for the chairman, Diran Famakinwa, said the tennis section was happy to renew its partnership Zenith Bank, the sponsors of the Grand Slam.

According to him, Zenith Bank has shown consistency while also calling on other private individuals to come out to sponsor the event.

Speaking further, he said 93 players registered for the Grand Slam, which promises to be more interesting from today.

“I want to use this opportunity to appreciate Zenith Bank, they have been there for us for more than nine years,” he said.

“I call on private organisations, individuals and others to come and support us because through that, you can be sure of a lot of visibility for your product.

“Apart from sponsoring the Grand Slam, Zenith Bank has been placing advert at the club and they just renewed their sponsorship for another three years with improved offers.

“This year, we have 93 players taking part in different categories ranging from men singles, lady singles, veteran, super veteran and team events.”

In his own words, the Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Zenith Bank, Ebenezer Onyeagwu, said the financial institution was happy to continue with the partnership with the Ikoyi Club Tennis section 

He said: “As an organisation, we will continue to invest in things that will help our customers.

“We have been investing in sports and we are happy to continue our partnership with the Ikoyi Club tennis section and other parts of the club. We look forward to exciting tournament in the Grand Slam and hope the best player wins.”
