Terrorists suspected to be armed herdsmen yesterday attacked Mbapa village in Gwer-West local government area, killing four hunters and injuring many other residents.
One of the survivors who identified himself as Tersoo told LEADERSHIP that the incident happened yesterday evening.
He said three unconscious victims were rushed to an undisclosed hospital.
“It was a terrible attack, residents of the community were thrown into panic when the corpses of those killed were brought home,” he said.
Speaking with our correspondent on telephone, chairman Gwer-West local government area, Ormin Torsar Victor, confirmed the killings. Police spokesperson, DSP Udeme Edet, did not respond or return calls when contacted.
