According to the CEO of The Scar Production, Adeniyi Fabuyi, “We’re excited to take African entertainment globally. Our goal is to collaborate with international artists, producers, and entertainment companies to create content showcasing African culture’s richness and diversity.

“2024 has been a remarkable year for The Scar Production and Radio, marked by several significant milestones.

“The company successfully expanded and established The Scar Radio in the United States, capturing a substantial share of the global market. Additionally, The Scar Radio launched impactful advocacy programs in the UK, focusing on mental health awareness and influencing talent mobility and cultural exchange policies.

“The Scar Production also achieved notable success, scaling into a recognized brand within the entertainment industry. The company is now celebrated for its ability to nurture talent and produce world-class TV content.

“Furthermore, The Scar Production established a partnership with Record Junkee in Sheffield, UK, creating a dedicated African Music Section in memory of our father, Michael Alani Adegboyega Fabuyi, who passed away in early 2024.

“This section showcases an extensive collection of his vinyl, honouring his love for music and promoting African culture globally. The company also facilitated the importation of African talents into the UK, creating international opportunities for creatives and artists.

“As we move into 2025, we aim to solidify our position as global leaders in entertainment.

“The Scar Production will deepen its commitment to artist development; ensuring African creatives have the tools and platforms to succeed.

“The Scar Radio will continue to innovate, using AI to enhance listener engagement and provide unique content tailored to diverse audiences via integrating into the metaverse.

“Together with my Sister, Jumai Adedoja Fabuyi, COO of The Scar Radio, as siblings and business partners, we’re driven by a shared passion for African entertainment and a relentless pursuit of excellence. The Scar is not just a company, it’s a movement, and we’re only just getting started.”

On her part, COO of The Scar Radio, Jumai Adedoja Fabuyi, said: “For The Scar Radio, we plan to deepen our footprint in Europe and explore markets in Asia, ensuring that African music continues to resonate globally. Partnerships with tech platforms and music services will also play a critical role in expanding our reach.

“The Scar Production began with a vision to elevate African music and talent. Initially focused on TV production, artist management, and bookings, the company quickly gained recognition for its innovative approach and special-styled productions.

“During the COVID-19 pandemic, the idea for The Scar Radio was born, starting as an online community where music lovers could connect in a time of isolation. What began as a WhatsApp group has since transformed into a global platform averaging tens of thousands of weekly listeners.

“Our journey has been fueled by a commitment to promoting African culture and a deep understanding of the evolving entertainment landscape. From Lagos to London to the Americas, we’ve built a global brand that stays true to its roots.

“Running a business with a sibling is a dynamic and unique experience. My brother, Adeniyi Fabuyi, the CEO, comes from a background in Banking and Finance, while I, as COO, studied Law. On paper, we’re worlds apart in terms of academic paths, but in reality, this blend of ideologies and expertise has become one of our greatest strengths.

“Adeniyi’s financial acumen and strategic foresight have been instrumental in structuring our operations for sustainability and growth. Meanwhile, my legal expertise ensures that our deals, contracts, and intellectual property are meticulously handled. Together, we’ve built a framework where creativity meets precision, and ambition meets practicality.

“Of course, working together isn’t without its challenges. There are times when our different perspectives lead to heated discussions. These debates often lead to disagreement, but they always result in well-rounded decisions that benefit the business.

“What’s remarkable is that, despite these differences, we’re united by a shared belief: the future is AI. This alignment has propelled us to explore innovative ways to integrate AI into our operations, from curating listener experiences on The Scar Radio to optimizing production workflows at The Scar Production.

“It’s this synergy of distinct skills and a shared vision that drives our success.”
